HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Sewickley offers a more intense regimen and higher level of care such as greater physician involvement and therapy time, as well as increased availability of pharmacy and laboratory services.

Specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation, our medical director leads a highly qualified team of nurses and therapists to provide a coordinated program of care. HealthSouth’s team approach engages rehabilitation experts from many disciplines, including:

Rehabilitation Nursing — Implements each patient’s medical care program as directed by his or her physician

Occupational Therapy — Designs and delivers activity-based therapy to promote independence in the areas of self-care, home management and community reintegration

Physical Therapy — Evaluates and designs a treatment program to address limitations in physical function, mobility and safety

Psychology — Provides support services to assist the patient and family in adjusting to the patient’s disability

Respiratory Therapy — Ensures proper respiratory function through services such as oxygen supplements and aerosol treatments

Speech-Language Pathology — Assesses and treats individuals with communication and comprehension disorders, cognitive difficulties and swallowing disorders

Dietary and Nutritional Counseling — Supervises all meals to ensure patients receive the necessary nutrition

Case Manager — Coordinates with the physician to ensure the patient’s needs are met and involves the family and other caregivers in the patient’s rehabilitation

Common diagnosis for inpatient admissions include: Stoke, Amputee, Burns, Orthopedic Surgeries, Fractured Hips, Multiple Trauma, Neurological Conditions, Brain Injury, and Spinal Cord Injury.
